First off, I probably have a different definition of "Freshen Up" than others. If he can throw in tunes that haven't seen the stage in over five years or so...I consider that freshening. The break down should be something akin to this...
15-20 Core Songs that have been held the show together since return to touring in 2009. (i.e. "Hey Jude" "Yesterday" etc.)
10-15 Rotational Songs brought back that haven't been seen in awhile (i.e. "Two of Us" "The Night Before" etc.)
5-10 Never Before Played Old Songs on the Solo Stage (i.e. "I Want To Hold Your Hand" "Silly Love Songs" etc.)
2-5 New songs off of "Egypt Station" (i.e. "Come on To Me" "I Don't Know" etc.)
It's obvious that the effort has diminished with each tour. The transition from Summer Live '09 to Up and Coming Tour was noteworthy, moving to the On The Run tour packed some powerful punches, transitioning to Out There Tour was great for hardcore Beatle fans, but transitioning to the One on One tour left a little to be desired in variety all across the board for all returning fans.
Time will tell. I can't possibly attend any of these shows as I begin my first year as a music educator, but I will certainly be on here the evening of teh 17th with popcorn ready for another setlist watch to launch a new tour. No matter how many changes are or are not there, we never know how long we have to say things like that.
That leads to an interesting question: Who is he promoting this tour to?
The guests he caters to (1st Timers that ARE SEEING A BEATLE!!! Crowd) have no idea what he usually plays, so a “Freshened Up” tour name has no meaning to them.
It really does seem the name is a direct message to his hardcore fans, but the problem is that no one really believes he will Freshen Up. But why market to us without intention of delivering?
Good point! (Fixed your “to meaning” to “no meaning.”)

He always is promoting the tour to the first timers and the title has basically no relevance to most of the ticket buying audience. Those of us who have seen him multiple times over the years know the set list will be tweaked but not really "Freshen Up". I have said in previous post what I expect and if it is a bunch different I will be shocked.

I'd like to see Your Mother Should Know return, but I think the chance of that is slim. Lovely Rita would be cool too

Not sure about that tour name.
I agree. If he had to use freshen, why not call it “Freshened Up?” Would make more sense.

I wouldn't rule them out. Personally, I've heard "Lovely Rita" enough. It works great live, but hasn't been gone that long. "Your Mother Should Know" was really short-changed with just the 2013 "Out There" stint showcasing it to date.

I see your Lovely Rita point. It's been a while sicne he's played Mrs Vandebilt. I always enjoyed that one live. Last time was in 2013. Things We Said Today (appeared sporadically through Out There 2013) has been played pretty rarely, the aformentioned The Night Before, I'm Looking Through You would all be nice to see again. Even Another Girl didn't get a ton of road time.

Agreed across the board (especially Things We Said Today, as it's the only one in there I haven't heard live EVER). Plus, there are many from the 2005 US Tour that deserve revisiting. For No One, Fixing a HOle, I'll Get You, Please Please Me, Too Many People, Good Day Sunshine, PENNY FRICKIN' LANE. I could go on...

Too Many People would be nice but I don't think Paul's played it since Quebec 2007 when he and the band pretty much trainwrecked it.
As he's said in interviews: "I'm not like Bob Dylan, if a song goes well for him one night, he'll drop it from the set the next; I'm less complex than that, if something goes well for me, I keep it , if not, its out."

absolutely. All of those are great. I'll Get You would be epic. For No One, Fixing A Hole would go well (and actually would've been great One on One tour songs). I was lucky enough to be at one of the like 5 shows in the last 10 years where he played Things We Said Today (Austin 2013), but agree that it's completely underplayed.

I'm hoping that they're leaving an obvious gap from October 13th-December 12th as space for US dates (and maybe more European dates prior to the UK ones).

There is a week between the ACL dates... Maybe there will be a show somewhere in TX or Louisiana then

Hey, I'll just throw it out there again.... would love to see "uncle albert" live

Very very short interview here from Paul on Radio 2 around 1:41:00 mark

Might be playing a few intimate gigs in the summer time.

I don't think Paul will ever do it without Linda. Who else would do her parts justice on stage?

my understanding is that there is not a large gap at all. But I guess we'll see
