The lineup for the 2018 Austin City Limits Music Festival has been announced.
Headliners include Paul McCartney, Metallica, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, Travis Scott, Odesza and The National.
Other performers include Khalid, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello and Hozier.

Paul is playing both weekends.
Also, the press release for the festival says this will be his only festival appearance in the US this year.
With him playing both weekends I would expect some other Texas shows during the week in-between.
-
I doubt other Texas shows in that week as festivals tend to have a radius clause. I could be wrong but it's safe to assume there will be other US shows wrapped around this somewhere.

Ha, in my post on the 2018 thread, I mentioned that most of the festivals have already announced their lineups. I forgot about Austin. I knew he couldn't go a year without doing at least one. Now bring on some other dates, please!

He is playing both weekends at ACL. Friday 10/5 and Friday 10/12

They had a radius clause for Desert Trip, but he still did a show at Pappy and Harriet's.

This is what Paul had to say to the Desert Trip people:

According to the emailed notification I received:
"Paul has confirmed his first live dates of 2018 headlining the Austin City Limits Music Festival." (emphasis mine)
So I think it is safe to assume nothing before that.

I take it more like, "first to be announced", not that it will the his first this year. Or at least I hope so.

Well, I think we are looking at September and beyond. I wouldn't expect any shows prior. Which fits my info that new album coming around that time

That's how I read it - "first to be announced."

Aww, that's sweet! I'm doing good, thanks! Would be great to meet you and Love2Travel too! Wouldn't it be great if we could all have a Maccaboard party there?
I guess any traveling depends on whether he's going to be playing close to Kansas City or not...(by he you know who I mean of course ) Would be my dream for him to be in KC close to Labor Day weekend when Ringo's scheduled to play at Starlight, and that they make surprise appearances at each other's shows! Would that. But since it looks like his first concert will be in October, that's after Labor Day, so seems unlikely. Who knows though, doesn't hurt to hold out hope!

The only thing that will make me the slightest bit interested in this event is if he plays some of his new album live.

Hi Yankeefan2! Like yourself, I do hope that Paul does play some songs from his new album. My girlfriend and I are looking forward to seeing Paul live twice at the Austin City Limits! Take care.

It'll be nice for him to be back in my hometown again! Excited for October!
