The Beatles (Let It Be/Get Back) appeared on The Simpsons tonight! Try to find it on YouTube or somewhere like fox.com. They appeared about halfway through the episode. You need to watch the entire episode to understand the context of what they say/do.
ETA: They (and the real Peter Jackson’s voice) also appear at the very end of the episode, so keep watching! -

Thank you on behalf of this group, but the 15 songs they cut on Jan. 1, 1962 in London did not pass Decca Records’ audition…D’OH!Who are the Beatles?
(guy got it) -
I usually cringe whenever Jeopardy has a Beatles' related category and contestants have a blank look on their faces, so am pleased the guy knew the answer to this.
-
People on this board should understand while we think these type questions are easy, most of them are things that happened 60 years ago, and most contestants were not even born. They had a category awhile back called "Yankee Stadium" and not one question was answered correctly. Obviously, I got them all correct but even my wife (not a Yankee fan -lol) would have gotten 4 of the questions correct.
-
@yankeefan2 True. I guess I sort of think The Beatles are so special and historical that everyone should know about them....when some people on "Ellen" could not name all four Beatles, I felt crushed. I thought everyone should at the very least know their names....John, Paul, George and Ringo! But, yeah, people now are not that aware. I get it. But....I was crushed when they were asked on Jeopardy what the last number 1 song for the group was (The Long and Winding Road) and they...sort of guessed.....Hey Jude! There was a time....more than once.... when they (Jeopardy) had the group as a category with all five (? is it five?) answers/questions involving them...and the contestants had to guess the correct responses. I had to change the station. I did not want to hear their responses.

@beatles4ever-1 The Beatles have been an entire category more times than once. I wrote down a long one from last September but I forgot to note if they were answered correctly. Will post it later. Have to go pick up my cat after dental surgery! (Don’t ask how much THAT cost!)

Believe it or not, the bill for the cat was LESS than the lowest quote they gave! “Only” $1661.70!

What is Rio de Janeiro?$2000 The Beatles won a music Oscar for this 1970 documentary, but finding itself in times of trouble, the band didn’t accept in person.

Yes, I know. I cringed every time that happened. I didn't keep track, because I often changed the channel to keep from squirming in my chair. P.S. I'm sure your kitty was worth every penny. Didn't Paul attend the Oscars to accept the award....from John Wayne...the year they won. I recall John Wayne didn't do a very good job pronouncing all their individual names. It was like he had no idea who they were...aside from being John, Paul, George and Ringo. Each full name was a bit hard for him to pronounce, or so it seemed. That is sort of stuck in my memory.

I was thinking the same thing and we were right! “the band” didn’t accept it, but Paul did! And John Wayne pronounced their names correctly. Of course Ringo wasn’t mentioned since he didn’t write any of the songs on Let It Be.

On the HBO show “True Detective: Night Country” there is a recurring bit where you hear The Beatles “Twist and Shout” being played. The first time is in the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Out” which is playing on a TV.

@njr Peter Rosenberg of the Michael Kay show stuck his uniformed cake hole into our hero Ringo. He said that Ringo was not a great drummer, without any knowledge nor perspective. He was subsequently corrected a bit by Michael, but still displayed his ignorance. Rosenbug stated that the Beatles would have been the Beatles with Pete Best. From my research, once George Martin said he wasn't good enough, John had Brian dump him quickly. Paul surely agreed or at least trusted Martin. Teamwork is the DreamWork, and Pete didn't cut da mustid, period. The Beatles driving sound with Ringo on the high hats was critical to the hysteria. No other drummer comes up with the beats to Ticket to Ride, Get Back, Come Together, etc. As bugs would say, "What a maroon!,"
-
@nowandthen2023 It was Paul who came up with the distinctive drum beat in Ticket To Ride.
