2018 Tours?
-
I don't see Paul playing in Europe next year. Maybe you know something about his upcoming gigs? I hope that Paul will won't play at the same time as Ringo in Europe
-
Just a fun guess.... I think Paul will tour 2018 extensively, but only after a new album is released or in conjunction. My bet is that he plays undervisited areas of both the USA and Europe. Hows that for a guess Bob Gannon? stirring the pot....
-
I heard that Paul will finally recognize the existence of China and play here.
Then I woke up.
-
This place is quiet like never before.. If we don't know if Macca will be touring, maybe you have some hints, rumours about part of the world which he will chose? Ringo Starr will be in Europe, and as far as I know Rolling Stones too. Maybe it's too much for Spring-Summer concert market in the Old Continent?
-
Happy New Year! I don't have any new rumours to report, sadly. But I do think Paul will do some shows this year, somewhere. He still seems to be energized by touring and doesn't show any signs of slowing down just yet.

California, baby.
Pleeeeeeeeze!

Hey Steve,
Well, first off, Happy New Year everyone and my sincere hopes that everyone has an opportunity to see Paul this year. I would start off by saying that it is way too early to speculate with any amount of accuracy how this year will pan out. What we do know with a pretty good deal of accuracy is that there is a new album coming. By what we know, I would say that it is safe to assume that he has resumed work on the album as per the plan he stated in his last interviews. What we don't know could fill an encyclopedia. Like is it more recording or is it final production work. Taking past timetables depending on our progress with can see the album anywhere from late 1st quarter to early 2nd quarter or as late as the 4th quarter. There is no data that i've seen or heard that makes this to narrow the scope. Depending on the plan of release could mean whether we come out as a brand new named tour or continued the "One to One" tour.
As far as touring. I would fully expect that there will be touring. Especially when you add the factor of a new album should eventually be here. As to where....if I had to make guesses without facts...I would say definitely the USA. I would think the west coast and south-southwest areas that were skipped last year. Also, as always I think there would be east coast shows...I think NY/NJ would probably be out but cities that are normal like Boston and Washington DC will see shows. I would fully expect some Canadian dates as well.
I would also expect at some point, some European and UK dates. I'd be surprised if he didn't hit those areas this year. I don't know if Japan, Australia or South America would be in the mix this year but again...that is purely speculation. Setlist changes will probably depend on when the new album drops, I don't see him playing new songs ahead of the album. It is still early to start hearing rumors as generally we start hearing March-May depending on start of the tour so don't get too wound up yet. It's a long year ahead of us
Please don't take any of this post too serious, these are not hints or based on credible information, just me speculating on what we may see from following past tour patterns. Again guys, be patient, it's a waiting game like usual and I'm sure that it won't be too long until we can get excited and have things to talk about based on factual and credible info.
I start this year extremely excited of the promise of new Paul music as I am sure the rest of you are. I look forward to more shows and hopefully one or two archive sets as well. If you are listening MPL, please listen to this fan's wish!!!! MORE ARCHIVES PLEASE!!!!

So, in a few words, nothing new.

Hi Bob, Good to see you on the new maccaboard! Thanks for your comments, we always appreciate your insights and opinions.
Agreed with everything you wrote, and also wonder if --- because of the new album-- there will be a brand new tour this year, with a new name other than "One on One"... possibly titled the same as his new album. We should know more in a few months. Hopefully he can perform in a few places that haven't seen him in a while!
But wherever he plays, it's never too early to start saving, if we need to travel and see him in concert. Hopefully most of us won't have to travel very far!

The only "rumor" I've seen is a brief article on a random website that seems to push people to re-sale ticket sites. They're speculating about UK shows. Makes sense as they haven't gotten the 1 on 1 treatment and it'll be 3 years since the London, Birmingham, Liverpool shows. I was tipped off my Jorie Gracen's twitter to the article.
The recent social media postings asking fans "what songs they'd like to hear live" has me unusually optimistic. Maybe someone will finally convince him to switch up the setlist for some special/small shows...? Looking forward to the new album and hopefully some promoting in the NY area.

I think a new tour name will depend on how quickly we finish the new album and when it comes out in regards to when the tour starts. He could buy some time starting in Europe since they have not gotten the One to One treatment for the most part if the album is not ready by start of tour. It will be interesting to see what they do. From what I hear and what Paul has said, I would say he is currently working on the album, at what stage?, is anybody's guess. Since the news places him in LA, I'd venture to guess that is where he is working. But on the other hand, this guy's hops all over the place.
just hoping for a great new album and some new songs in the setlist!!!

Yes, we're all looking forward to the new album, and I'm really anxious to hear what it's title will be. Paul was photographed in Los Angeles recently at Stella's event, and has also been photographed in New York working with a grammy award winning mixer there, so he seems hard at work getting it ready!
Tour dates of course will no doubt depend on the album's release date.
EDITED TO ADD: This is a photo previously posted on another thread, of him in NY with mixers, possibly for new album:
Photo taken in New York on December 20 of Paul with Robert L. Smith (left) of Defy Recordings, other man is unidentified. Robert is an Oscar & Grammy winning, Emmy nominated Producer/Engineer/Mixer. Hopefully this has something to do with the recording and release of Paul's new album!

new boards - yay! I mentioned that Milwaukee rumour to family members that live there, so if they hear anything, they will let me know. I have no other news or rumours to report.
Elton John has been announced but the date is Feb. 19, 2019 so not the opener.

I would assume more touring as it looks like we will see the new studio album in 2018 as well. I'm sure if he tours, there will be Beatles songs in the set.....sadly!! I'd like to see one tour all solo and wings material. Stop being apologetic for a great solo catalog!! He seems to be the only one not convinced that his solo catalog is great!
If he tours and I truly think he will, there will be minor changes at best. I am so over him touring and really can't wait for the new album.

"Are you a #PaulMcCartney superfan? We’re auctioning off VIP tickets (with a backstage meet and greet!) for the one and only SIR PAUL!
Good for any 2018-2021 tour date in the US".

Trying to get used to the new board here! I've been looking at either the dark blue style from 2002-2004ish ....to the dark black style from then until now. The times, they are a changin! Anyway... as always... patiently awaiting rumors, although very early indeed! The hubby and I always start the conversation around this time of year..."So, where are we going to vacation this year to see Paul?"

I'd be suspicious of an auction saying a meet and greet that far in advance. I've seen meet and greets auctioned while tours haven't started or after they ended but all within a year and of course Paul's people would have known that they planned to go back out on the tour.
My advice, I wouldn't put my money down

He'll be in Israel in May to collect his prize, so maybe he'll add a concert there? What do you think? Hopefully
