Heard an interesting conversation on another list that I am on. If the rumors of Dodger Stadium and Candlestick Park come true (and I am by no way saying that they will) could it be Paul's way of telling us something????? I mean, Dodger Stadium and Candlestick Park were the Beatles last concerts! Not trying to cause a panic but I thought that the conversation was at least..interesting to say the least!
But it does have to happen at some point i suppose and i can see this is the way,in the future Paul would surely want to go out of mainstream touring (he'll never retire will he?) but as he scales back touring (as he will i would assume at some point) surely a last large tour would be called for.
I feel like if Paul really were to completely retire from touring, he'd make a BIG announcement about it and not be cryptic about his intentions.
I dont think i said he was going to call it a day, just musing on the "way" he would go about saying goodbye to large scale touring (i'll say it again he wont retire, but i do see him scaling things back over the next 3 or 4 years or so)

I can't find the original post that mentioned it, but I read something about an announcement this Wednesday of a US show. Are there thoughts as to what town it will be?
Based on what has been rumored in this thread my guess is New Orleans or Pittsburgh. I'm oping Pittsburgh, as that's probably the only chance I'll have to see him this year....even if it is a four hour drive....
You better believe I'm hoping for Pittsburgh! But I really think it's going to be New Orleans. Pittsburgh news stations cannot keep a secret.. And I think if he were returning here, there would have been buzz already. I really think Pittsburgh is mere speculation here around the forum. I hope I am wrong though! PNC Park is an amazing ballpark, and the gorgeous Pittsburgh skyline would make a fantastic backdrop behind those Macca screens/stage!
hints have nothing to do with either city!
Bob - you say hints have nothing to do with either city -- Pittsburgh or New Orleans, but then how do you explain this article on Examiner.com http://www.examiner.com/article/beatle-news-briefs-mccartney-u-s-tour-brewing-fabs-win-exit-poll
The Examiner is also a member here. I think he was just reporting what's been discussed here.

Life in the echo chamber! I've even seen my musings here turn up on other sites at times, so we do have an impact. I would just say this: just because Bob's clues aren't about New Orleans or Pittsburgh doesn't mean Paul won't be playing there! As for his clues, I'm still clueless.

took the words right out of my mouth favoritething, just because the clues are not about those cities it doesn't mean that they are or are not on tap for shows this summer. Anything can happen for sure

Hey, two things Bob... I start to REALLY worry when Paul announces a rooftop gig at Savile Row on this tour, second...who did fart?
-
Just checked the citizens bank park Website and they do not list any event (other than baseball games) for the week of July 14. Interestingly, they do list 2 concerts slightly later... * 8/1/14 Florida-Georgia Line - Jason Aldean - Tyler Farr * 8/2/14 Billy Joel Doesn't look promising for Paul appearing at Citizens Bank Park the week of July 14. You would think it would already have been announced. I wonder if this beautiful park will have a sellout for the 8/1 concert. I never think of Philly of being a big country market unless it is someone much bigger like Kenny Chesney. Billy Joel will no doubt be a sell-out. For the big Philly Paul fans (like myself) I am just hoping that Philadlephia is one of the stops for 2014. I think we have a chance since it was excluded last year. If Philly or NY/New Jersey are not on the list, I could see driving to Pittsburgh if in fact that is the closest. I hear the Pittsburgh baseball stadium is gorgeous.

LOL, I was just testing to see if anyone read the little profile comments. I've changed a few times and nobody said anything!!
-
I assume it won't be long till the announcement. New Orleans is likely since there hasn't been a show there since 2002. I could see Philly too. Would Denver, Nashville, Des Moines, of Anaheim be a possibility? He hasn't played at any of these cities in a few years.
-
Bob, I noticed the "who farted" comment. Definitely got a laugh out of me. As for the others, I admit I didn't notice them. Nothing like the word fart to raise some eyebrows! Lol! As for cities Paul hasn't been to for a while.. Cleveland is among those! I said it once, and I'll say it again.. Hoping for Pittsburgh and Cleveland!
-
I went to the two Pittsburgh shows last time, loved them. Took so e great photos! And as for Cleveland, would love it..give me an excuse to visit the Rock HOF

How many people can the largest venue in Lubbock hold for a concert?
15,000 at the United Spirit Arena. http://www.unitedspiritarena.com/
But Texas Tech has a football stadium, too....

If you're gonna play So Cal then Anaheim Stadium or whatever they call it now is definitely the better stadium for a concert over Dodger Stadium. But for an iconic venue during the 50th Anniversary, Dodger Stadium would be it since The Beatles played there. Not many of the actual places still standing. Unless he plays Hollywood Bowl again!

Hearing New Orleans as well! That is an easy drive from Memphis. About 6 hours. Cindy and I may be heading south this summer...

Not necessarily.

I still am hoping for a San Diego return. He hasn't played here since Wings in 1076 and Petco Park is a gorgeous stadium right on the waterfront. No one plays San Diego though so I'm sure this is wishful thinking on my part. But I do know that San Diego has been looked into by his people last year. So I will not give up hope yet.

San Diego seems like a perfect spot! And Petco Park was designed by Albuquerque architect Antoine Predock.
