McCartney III a possibility?

I'll take the best six songs from McCartney with the best six from McCartney 2 and then we've got a massive winner.
OK, I'll bite: What are your six best tracks from each album?
Six from each: The McCartney ones are pretty easy for me. No real surprises. Maybe I?m Amazed (obviously), Junk, Teddy Boy, Every Night, That Would be Something, Oo You Not a real fan of instrumentals (as opposed to movie scores). It?s like going to the football and leaving at half time when scores are level. Kreen-Akrore, is a curious number. There is a slight few seconds in there which remind me of the Dirty Harry theme. All up, though, I still think this is one of his weakest albums. Probably stretching to get to the six. McCartney 2: Coming Up (obviously), Temporary Secretary, Darkroom, Bogey Music, One of These Days (strangely, this is listed on my 1987 reissue CD as ?One of Those Days?), Waterfalls Incidentally, whilst thinking about this at work today, I could not stop singing Darkroom. I think it may have unnerved the new girl outside my office, me singing ?come along with me to my darkroom?.

Geez, "Nobody Knows" and "Summer's Day Song" are nipping at the heels. Might have to be a 14 track album.

Although Front Parlour is miles below my favorite Paul songs (Beatles, Wings, Solo or otherwise), for some reason it always works in putting a smile on my face Also agree with the previous post regarding Summer's Day Song - and in fact, in my book, it's one of those under appreciated 'hidden' gems Bogie Music also grabs me, although when I'm not listening to it but try to rationalize why I like it, I can't give you an answer...it doesn't represent something I'd normally like...but I do I really like how Dark Room and Temporary Secretary was represented on Twin Freaks (I liked them well enough anyway from McCII but find these updated versions superb)...The TF version of Coming Up was interesting but not a favorite (like it how it was originally release - both the album and the live in Glasgow versions)...But certainly not disappointed in having that updated version in my colllection

I think "Chaos" WAS McCartney III

I'd like to see Paul compile a retro-active (of sorts) McCartney III, McCartney IV and McCartney V. It would be a cool challenge for him to dig through his unfinished but decent-enough demos, jams, session-outtakes for each ten-year period and compile the best tracks for release.

I'd love that--along with loads of new songs He's so talented, seems like he'd bee chompin' at the bit to come out with more music 'Course his life is absolutely stuffed with people and fun but even so...seems this would often be paramount

That is my big dream - McCartney III would be so cool!
Not sure about that. The first two were mediocre IMO. The first one was mostly just snatches of musical ideas that should have been developed into songs....were he not in such a hurry to be the first Beatle with a solo album in 1970 and to promote it by "announcing" that he left the Beatles....which led to all the bitterness with John. The second one was a musical disaster IMO. So, I'm not so keen on a third one. Although, he has songs recorded that were left over from "New" and I recall that he had recorded another one for KOTB but left it off because it was too popish and/or didn't fit the standard mode....per the producer of that album. He has more songs...lots of 'em.

I love the idea of a McCartney III as the first McCartney is one of my favorite solo Paul albums ... I find it very charming and while I haven't listened to McCartney II all that many times, I do really enjoy how quirky it is. Still, it doesn't seem all that likely he would go that route now as he seems really into playing with this band.

I tend to think Electric Arguments was more like a McCartney III album - a few pop/rock cuts, some exquisite ballads, and experimental instrumentation/song structures.

And on the flip-side, many consider McCartney II to be the first Fireman album.

I'd love Paul to make an album with the sound of the McCartney album, just a simple, pure, fresh and uncluttered recording. I feel these days Paul loves collaboration, making an album virtually on his own is very unlikely now i think.

Decent idea, but i can't see that happening unless he pops his clogs and the family dig through it all and release them.

I would expect Paul McCartney to -- at the very least -- have already hired someone to catalog every session/home-recording he's ever done. Choosing tracks for a compilation like that, ideally, should be as simple as opening an Excel spreadsheet and selecting a work-sheet/tab for each year.

I would like a "Paul McCartney" double album, where he do everything from heavy metal to opera. Solo and guest artists, jamming with the band... Maybe it would resemble "The White Album" too much... I don't know, but I think it sound interesting, like a musical playground with everything McCartney I-XIIX.

McCartney was his first album after he lost his first band. McCartney II was the first album after he lost his second band. Those were his declarations of independence, more or less. What band has he lost to warrant III?
