Hopefully Maccablog will have something for us soon.
link please
Link for what? I think crossroads is stating that there is no news there right now and only expressing hopes something will come along soon

Ah - sorry...thought your were asking for a specific report:-)

This whole waiting thing wouldn't be so bad if we knew when the albums were coming. We don't and have wonder for a few months and it's driving me crazy! I like how they are doing it with the Pink Floyd remasters, announce 3 at a time and give them dates. Make the waiting much more bearable. I don't even want content, just an album and date.

Here's the link - http://www.maccablog.com/en/index.html There is nothing new there yet but they were the first to report both the BOTR and McCartney reissues. It seems like they have some sort of source within UM France and are able to get reissue information before anybody else.

Considering how exhaustive the McCartney II set was, I tend to disagree with you here.
There was nothing really special about the bonus material though. Just full versions of the original edited recordings in the main and i doubt they would have been used in the rarity boxsets. Over the last forty years Paul has accumulated a lot more unreleased material than could possibly be fitted on the planned boxsets so had the McCartney II bonus tracks not been used on the deluxe sets then i doubt they would have been released at all.

I don't get why everyone assumes that what the graphic designer decided looked most pleasing on a paper insert advertisement is the gospel word on release order. If you check the insert that came with Band On the Run, Ram came right after McC I&II, but on the new inserts, it's last. Nowhere on the inserts anywhere does it say "This is the order of the next releases." It just says "Coming soon" and gives you several pictures of album covers.
So basically you are saying that the graphic designer placing McCartney I & II first on the 'Coming soon' BOTR promo insert and the fact that they were the next two albums to be issued was just a coincidence?

Not just full versions of edited recordings but also EVERY previously unreleased track associated with the original 2LP configuration of McCII, often bootlegged but never official until now.

Yes, I am. Coincidence. Even if there were some truth to the idea that the order the pictures are in hints at the release order, moving Ram from 3rd to last just proves that the inserts are not infallible official announcement, but are subject to change.

I think the order of the album cover pictures are more than a hint, they are the intended order of release at the time the promo insert was printed and issued. But as you rightly say, they are not infallible official announcements and Ram does appear to have been pushed down the release order. However, given that the McCartney & McCartney II promo inserts are relatively recent, the Venus & Mars / Speed Of Sound albums do appear to be the intended next releases. And if they are, then thats got to be more than coincidence?

Well, are you dying to know the next archive reissue???
-
Yes. Wish we could get dates on the next 4 releases. So then I can figure how I'm gonna pay for all these and put money in my "Archive Deluxe Albums Fund", with currently $50.

I think it's probably tough to give exact or approximate dates for the new sets. And it's a lose-lose situation for Paul and Concorde if they don't come through exactly when they say it will be out. People will always bitch about something. Judging by the first sets, these have quite alot of time put into them. I see people trying to compare these re-issues to that of Queen or Pink Floyd. That's not realistic, Paul is still a touring and recording artist. Which means his time is sparce and let's face it, nothing goes into these sets that he doesn't personally over look and approve. So my advice is to sit back, relax and calm yourselves. They will get here when they get here...The ballet CD is coming in October....he's doing two new album projects that we know of and also probably more touring. Enjoy this time because a time is coming very quickly where there may be no more new Macca albums, tours or projects to collect!
-
I wouldn't mind them being spread out more. they're expensive and buying two in one month is a lot in this bad economy. I know some are eager for their favorite albums, and I'd like some finally on CD that I only had on cassette back in the 70s and 80s, but I've got a budget to work out too.

You are so right. He is on a great roll right now and let's enjoy it for what it is and while we can.

If they are gonna be released in 2011? When did McCartney and McCartney II get announced? About two months before their release? Or what about Band on the Run? I would think that they'd wanna give these things proper promotion, seeing as were are still in the part of the campaign where they are still dealing with the more "important"/"classic" albums like Ram and Venus & Mars. I could see if they won't put a ton into promoting Press to Play or Off the Ground (not to slight those albums), but you'd think they'd wanna start the promo machine for whatever the next releases are, seeing as those the two McCartney's have seemingly ran their course. Anyways, do we have any idea what is coming up next? I know Mojo said Ram, and I'm hopeful for that, but are we sure? And on another issue, what do all of you think about whether the media will continue to cover the reissues like they have? The first 3 have gotten a lot of attention, but honestly I can't see the media getting worked up about Venus & Mars, London Town, or very much else. Maybe Ram will get a bit, Tug of War because it was the first post John's death, and maybe Flowers in the Dirt because of the interesting backstory with Declan MacManus and whatnot. However, I'm not trying to slight any of these albums, I hope they all get a bunch of attention, because many areas of Paul's solo career are of great interest to me, and I'll be buying many of the remasters.

I really hope we get an announcement soon. Maybe in september and we´ll get a release in nov/dec. I don´t think we´ll get a fall AND and a winter release.

About that. The two McCartney albums were officially announced here on 27th April and were released on 13th June which i think is about seven weeks and a few days.

It looks as there we will be no new Macca remasters before 2012. etcetra posted that there had been no work done this month on the archive collection. I think it is safe to say two things. 1. No more remasters this year. 2. And by the time all these are out I'm going to be married with a couple of kids running in the yard.

They'll be done When I'm Sixty Four!
