Paul's Working on a New Album !!
-
Paul Mc. appeared on the Today and some other morning news shows this morning (Wed. Dec.10) and reportedly said he is "working on a new CD" YEAH BABY --and will tour Japan in April and add more dates to the tour
-
Thanks. Is he referring to the soundtrack of the animated film? That's supposed to be next.
-
Well, his official page in Facebook and Twitter is promoting "Hope for a future" a lot. Maybe will be a soundtrack.

There is already a separate soundtrack for "Destiny" that has McCartney's name as one of the composers. He may or may not be referring to something else. A friend told me that thought it might be Rupert.

I just listened to "TODAY" and didn't hear the talk about any CD. He did tell Minneapolis he is writing.

He's already said he's not doing a pop album anytime soon, so I doubt there will be. There has already been talk about a guitar album, as well as this Rupert soundtrack, so we'll see. I'm hoping a new Out There live album is in the works.

So far I have only been able to find the Today broadcast. Can someone please provide links to watch (or download) his appearances on the other morning TV shows?

The animated movie has nothing to do with Rupert the Bear; it's supposedly based on his children's book from several years ago, "High In The Clouds." He will be writing "several songs" for it, and it's supposed to come out in 2015. http://variety.com/2013/film/news/paul-mccartneys-high-in-the-clouds-heading-for-big-screen-1200682182/ This more recent article is more cagey about it, though, not giving a title. Kind of strange. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/paul-mccartney-animated-film-score/

yes, he is he's always keeping busy, one of the things I love about that man

It would be great to be a fly on the wall of his studio.

From just the little bits we've been able to glimpse, here and there... it would be tres cool! Make that another album like the last, or a Fireman album even... Would love to see more of the genius at work. I can just imagine him banging on things and using items that don't usually go together, to make some more really cool sounds and going in different directions.

It has been over a year now.... I long for the days where bands/artists were compelled to put out material every 12-18 months. It never detracted from the quality of the material back in the day, did it?... so, I'll be greedy and want a proper album in the true sense... yet, I know it ain't quite going to happen.

How about '63-'65, when the Beatles put out TWO albums a year?? If Paul's animated soundtrack stays on schedule, we could see it in 2015. But I'm sure he's thinking ahead to the next project already.

I wish they would release the whole game soundtrack "Destiny" physically, not just "Hope for the Future".

Hasn't it taken U2 something like 30 years to finally put out the same number of albums the Beatles did in about 7 years??? Now days some bands go up to 5 years or longer between albums. Too bad Taylor Swift and Kanye, among others, don't follow that schedule! (Paul doesn't have the luxury...if that's the right word....to go too long between albums. He's not getting any younger and his voice is...well, not in great shape these days. )

The 60s was a happening. And much music has been made (and documented) since then. I think it has become more difficult to write a song that you haven't heard a million times already, to make something truly original with music, like The Beatles did with popular music in the 60s, where every song represented some kind of an artistic progression, yet were irresistably catchy.

I don't know if this is just a coincidence, but it looks Paul has an aversion to putting out major new albums in US Presidential election years. Maybe he feels it's hard to get noticed amid all that hubbub, or that he doesn't want to be asked about US politics while he's promoting a major release. 2012: KOTB - covers 2008: Electric Arguments - a Fireman album, kind of under the radar 2004: nothing 2000: Liverpool Sound Collage - electronic experimentation 1996: nothing 1992: nothing 1988: CHOBA B CCCP, but only in the USSR 1984: Broad Street - not a big success! So I don't know what this means for 2016.
