It's not free. The CD costs $15.99 and with a tote bag, it cost $22.99. They know the business.

I usually buy the Paul Remasters at one of the big box retailers. I usually buy them on the first or second day and they offer great special deals. Has anything been mentioned about what Tug of War and Pipes of Peace packages Best Buy or Target are offering? Any dates that they will be in the stores. thanks
I've heard that you get a free tote bag at Best Buy. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/tug-of-war-bonus-disc-cd/4331782.p?id=3420923&skuId=4331782

So, 'Tug of War' and 'Pipes of Peace' are coming out. What about the future? my expectations... 1. Press To Play/Flowers In The Dirt: I guess they're the next ones. I don't expect anything from PTP... is an awful album, but curiously it has one of my preferred songs, 'Footprints'. Maybe PTP won't be released and 'Off The Ground' will take his place, but honestly, if you have heard 'The Complete Works', why would you need a reedition? 2. London Town/Back To The Egg: LT deserves an extraordinary reedition. The period '77-'78 was incredibly productive for Paul and Wings, however, many songs were not included in the oficial tracklist. I don't know if there's extra material on BTTE, that's why I believe it will be a very simple reedition, including 'Daytime Nightime Suffering' as a big new. My personal "illusion": a single version of 'Winter Rose/Love Awake' without the 'Love Awake' part . Is such a wonderful song, followed by a boring soft pop balad. 3. Flaming Pie: This is a personal wish. My preferred album. I'm conscious that FP is only 18 years old, therefore the reedition is not necessary yet. 4. Wild Life/Red Rose Speedway: Time to complete the Wings's reedition. I like WL so maybe it will surprise us. RRS is almost perfect, we just need a version of '1882' to be forever happy
The next one will be Flowers In The Dirt. People have already seen the "coming soon" card in the new deluxe sets. I've said it before, but I think Flaming Pie will be next after that. A very personal album, and his biggest success in 15 years (since Tug Of War). WL/RRS and LT/BTTE: I don't think Paul remembers those albums fondly, but I think they'll come out somehow, maybe in less elaborate editions. Yes, BTTE has some outtakes, notably "Cage," plus the half-hour TV special with videos for several songs. And I like "Love Awake" better than "Winter Rose"! Press To Play: Not a successful album, but then again, it's currently out of print, so who knows, maybe it will come out in some kind of expanded edition, maybe Paul remembers it as a fun album to make, very experimental. Wouldn't hold my breath! (The producer of it, Steve Lillywhite, has not been shy in saying that he thought they were just not good songs, and he clashed with Paul while making it. I like it, though.)

I decided that I can't afford the deluxe editions of Pipes of Peace and Tug of War. I'm trying to find just the CD of the reissue of Pipes of Peace on Amazon or PM.com and can't Isn't it being reissued as just a single CD as well?

Great!! I love 'Flowers' but who you think it will be its companion? Paul usually makes two releases in a row, right? if he keeps the tradition, I guess he will pick 'Press To Play' despite its an unsuccessful album. I though that Hugh Padghman was the producer of PTP, am I wrong?

Hugh Padgham, yes, oops, I misspoke there, but he didn't enjoy the experience! (He started out as Steve Lillywhite's engineer; the two of them did a lot in the '80s.) I don't know, if there were going to be a companion album, they would be announcing it now, I think. Ram came out on its own, as did Band On The Run.

Press To Play is a very solid rock and roll album. It is not awful. Sometimes the visitors to this website drive me mad. McCartney has NEVER recorded an awful album. The flippant comments made about Pauls' music by people who haven't done squat in the music industry just makes me sad. As I have said before, it's Paul &$&$&@@!! McCartney!!!!
I'm as big a Macca fan as anyone. I have all his albums. Unlike others, I love Kisses. But like most everyone else, I think PTP just sucks. It was so beneath his capability he should've just shelved it. I've spent thousands on his music and concerts and will even purchase every new edition even though I know I'm a sucker for doing so. I'm a fan, maybe even a sycophant, but PTP is terrible and I have the right to say so.

For the McCartney's standards is an awful album, his weakest effort by far. Of course, if you comparte PTP with the current music, well, it is a good album. But to my ears, PTP is just a lot of modern sounds with no direction and sense. PTP has an esencial problem: most of the compositions are bad, simply bad. Just my opinion.
Exactly. That's the key point.....we all have 'em. It's just how we state them....maybe less like "it's a given or a fact"....and more about it being just what one thinks or feels....for whatever reason(s).

My Tug Of War hasn't shipped yet so don't think I'll be getting it tomorrow. Hopefully Monday !

I have to wait another week!...Don't know why they delayed it here... Darn... it's like the old days when we had to wait months and months for Star Wars to get released here!... Oh well, they say in the classics that the moment of anticipation is sweeter than the act, better than the memory.... not sure I believe that, but hanging out for these two releases.... good appetiser for the Beatles DVD release.
-
Hope to get my deluxe sets next week sometime. October is definitely "Paul McCartney month. Concert on the 16th!

Just received my - albeit regular - 2-CD copies of Tug and Pipes. NO COMING SOON CARD INCLUDED !!!! No announcement of FITD whatsoever !!! So now IĀ“m wondering was that post with the FITD card on this board a hoax??? IĀ“d much prefer LT and BTTE anyway...and by the way London Town sold way more copies than Flowers and chances are EGG sold more as well. Both albums went platinum in the States. Flowers only made it to gold status (No. 21 on Billboard). WOULD BE NICE IF SOMEONE WOULD CONFIRM IF THERE IS A COMING SOON CARD IN THEIR COPIES...OR NOT

It probably only comes in the deluxe versions.

well, could be... but so far it was always included in the 2-CD sets as well as in the deluxe editions (I only own the WoA box set). So would be a bit strange to change strategy now...
