CNN now reporting that when all the votes are tallied, Trump will also win the popular vote...that coming from CNN (Clinton News Network)...oh well
See this is how the media is getting on my nerves, not only during the election, but now afterwards. I just read the exact opposite in a paper this morning, saying that Clinton still has the popular vote and is expected to maintain that lead after the votes are all counted. The media hasn't helped one bit during all of this either.
Nobody is seriously saying Trump will win the popular vote. In fact, trends overwhelmingly favor Clinton's margin continuing to grow, as the states with most votes uncounted are ones she's winning handily. For details, see http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/hillary-clinton-popular-vote-victory_us_5827a2c5e4b02d21bbc91bbc As of Friday, California -- where Clinton is trouncing Trump by nearly 2 to 1 -- had 4.3 million ballots still to be counted: http://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article114288968.html Hillary's going to win the popular vote by over a million, easily. Fantasize all you want, Rich, but reality will catch up.
It didn't mean anything to me, because Trump won...just trying to rip the last pacifier out of the liberal's mouth. Truth is, you cut off NY and CA and throw them, along with their corrupt asses out in the ocean, Trump wins by 10-15 mil votes. Thats why we have the electoral system in the first place. So all states have a say. Trump didn't lose in the popular vote in the states that he won that were supposed to be Hillary's states (PA, MI, etc). Hillary won VA by 60K votes, coincidentally the same number as the number of convicts suddenly released granted the right to vote by gov mc-asshole. Lastly, the topic came up in 2012 because, although Obama ended up winning the popular vote, many polls in the days ahead of the election showed a scenario where Obama would win the electoral vote, but Romney would get the popular vote. Reps complained and Dems to them to go stuff it...so now the shoe of this argument is on the other foot Btw, Trump gave you a choice, Hillary gave you a command...a point that will slide way over your head
Actually, the Electoral College was set up to protect slavery. Learn some history: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/updates/electoral-college-slavery-constitution/
Actually, that is incorrect... slaves were assigned a value of a percent of a person to help states in their plight for self serving interest. Thus, they were an add on as part of a compromise...take the word 'slaves' out of the mix, and you have the same underlying using of demographics as a means to manipulate the process...
Please stop with the preposterous disinformation. There's actually little dissent among historians on this. The system was set up to maximize influence of slave states and guarantee the survival of the "peculiar institution." The "California" of that early era was the slave state of Virginia, and that was on purpose: http://time.com/4558510/electoral-college-history-slavery/
You just repeated what I said and called me wrong - that's cute
