Yankeefan, Here are some of mine: McCartney 2 (I know this CD is not rated high, but I think it is underrated) 1. Nobody Knows (love this 50's rocker style song; would love to hear this with a full band 2. Summer's Day Song (I think Wix could do his magic on this and love the song) 3. Onc of These Days (very nice ballad) Tug of War (travesty that Paul has never done most of the songs) 1. Take it Away 2. Ballroom Dancing 3. Pound is Sinking I would love to hear Wanderlust & Tug of War but I don't think Paul could do them now Flowers in the Dirt 1. Put It There 2. How Many People (nice reggae style) 3. That Day is Done (not sure Paul could do it but would love to hear the song live 4. This One Off the Ground 1. Hope of Deliverance (he should play it for a whole tour; love it) 2. Golden Earth Girl (tribute for Linda but not sure he can do it now) 3. Winedark Open Sea Flaming Pie 1. Young Boy 2.Little Willow (Linda tribute) 3. World Tonight I would love Somedays, Souvenir and Beautiful Night but not sure he could do them now Run Devil Run 1. What it is 2. No Other Baby (a cover but I think he could do it well and it is catchy 3. Lonesome Town (love his version but not sure he could do it vocally now 4. All Shook Up (like Paul's faster version of Elvis's song) Driving Rain 1. About you 2. Your Way Chaos and Creation 1. Promise to You Girl (with the full band, I think it would sound good) 2.. English Tea (we know Paul can do this one well) 3. At the Mercy (I think Paul/Band could do a very good job on this) Memory Almost Full 1. Ever Present Past (If Wix can do Temporary Secretary, he could this better song) 2. That Was Me (Paul only did this song a couple of times and it was great) 3. Feet in the Clouds (like That Was me, I think Paul could do this one well also) 4. House of Wax (could be great and Rusty could do a great solo) Electric Arguments 1. Sing the Changes (never get tired of this one) 2. Dance Till We're High (could be great) 3. Sun is Shining (another potential good one live) New 1. Early Days (best song on New and potential Signature song for Paul if he sang it) 2. Turned Out (could be a very good song live) 3. I Can Bet (also could be very good live)
BJ - Like your selection, you have a couple of songs (Sun Is Shining, Feet In The Clouds) that I did not think of that would work well live. Honestly, I did not give a thought about whether he could still sing the songs I selected at his age now. I noticed you did not list anything from "Press To Play" and "Give My Regards To Broadstreet". Did you think there was nothing worthy to be played live on those two albums or were they just overlooked?
__________________________________________________ Yankeefan, I just overlooked Press to Play and Give My Regards to Broadstreet. Press to Play was the only Paul Solo album I never bought. It was a tough time for me...going through a divorce/career change etc. Things worked out good in the long run but it wasn't until Flowers in the Dirt came out that I really got back into Paul. Based on video's I have seen, I would list these songs from Press to Play and Broadstreet: Broadstreet No More Lonely Nights (Not sure he could do it today) No Values (good rocker that I think could even go down well now even with Paul's voice) Press to Play Only Love Remains (Really like the live video where there is another female singer backing Paul up with Linda. Very good song but wonder if Paul could do it now Once Upon a Long Ago (a bonus track on the 1993 Collection Remaster; don't know if Paul could sing it now but it is a very good song) Going back to the 70's, I would have love to hear these in concert: Red Rose Speedway Single Pigeon (simple but great song that Paul could still do today) When the Night (sounds so Beatlesque ) Little Lamb Dragonfly (Paul might have to shorten it live but we can only dream) The Mess (bonus track, why didn't Paul ever do this one...great rocker Back to the Egg Getting Closer (great rocker and why didn't Paul ever play this one) So Glad to See You Here (why didn't Paul us this as a show opener? Arrow Through Me (another one that should have been played live) Spin It On (a hard rocker that Paul and Band could have played well) London Town (the album) I'm Carrying (he could have dedicated this one to Linda) I've Had Enough (another rocker he could have done) Girls' School (ditto to above song) Don't Let It Bring You Down (another great song never played live) I did those 3 albums above because Paul never played them on tours from 1989 on.
I will add my songs, see below. I thought "Rockestra" might even be a cool opener, rocking instrumental which could have led into song like "Jet" (when he sang it well) as a great 1-2 punch. Back To the Egg 1) Rockestra 2) Old Siam Sir London Town 1) Name And Address 2) I've Had Enough
