https://live.line.me/channels/73/broadcast/2714854 Minute 15:20 Someone asks Paul wether he'll be playing any some from Flowers in The Dirt on this tour leg, and he says that they planned to do so, but they haven't rehearsed it yet.
I can't get that damn video to play the entire thing! Keeps cutting off!
I couldn't get it to work correctly either, until I changed the video play setting to a lower one. It's set to 720 HD; too fancy for my equipment, I guess! Had to click on it and try a lower number. Maybe it will help you, too? Hope so!

And maybe try it without anything else running. Everything is eating up your memory so there is none left to play this.

As far as Solo songs, I for the life of me can't understand "Four Five Seconds" and Temporary Secretary.
Not as hard to figure out as you think. Seconds is his biggest hit in over 30 years. Listen to how he sometimes introduces Secretary. He'd heard DJ's playing it. It comes down to acceptance and relevance.

Just want to apologize to the Paul fans for my tirade here after seeing the 2nd Japan setlist. I want to go to the Tampa show and I am so frustrated. Actually, I have no problems with his Beatles' signature songs. I understand why he needs to play them for the 1st timers and that is why they are signature songs. I also don't have any problem with the true Paul Post Beatles signature songs like Band on the Run and Live and Let Die. These 2 fit perfectly where they are placed. Even though I have heard all of these songs at about10 shows in the past, it's never bad to hear them live again. The one exception is Paul's own "Maybe I'm Amazed". It is certainly a signature song and one of his best Post Beatles' songs. The only problem is that Paul's 2017 voice can't handle it. Why doesn't he just accept it and put another great song in that slot that he can sing. I also don't mind the tribute songs for John and George Harrison. Something is one of George's signature songs and Paul/Band does a great job on it. I also really like Here Today no matter how many times I have heard it. The lyrics are perfect and it is a Solo Paul song which is a plus. My problem with the Setlist and frankly with even going to the Tampa show are the majority of the secondary songs. As far as Solo songs, I for the life of me can't understand "Four Five Seconds" and Temporary Secretary. The whole "people won't recognize it" as the theory for not including Solo songs goes completely out the window. The people in the arenas will just be looking at themselves like what is this song. More importantly, both songs don't represent the "mature Post Beatles' Paul. The lyrics are absolutely stupid. Why wouldn't Paul want people to hear some of his best Solo songs with heartfelt and smart lyrics like Put It there or Little Willow. Or for more uptempo songs like This One or Young Boy. Why wouldn't Paul be so proud of those type songs. Some casual Beatle fans would walk away thinking...that was a wonderful song that I don't remember from Paul after the Beatles. Other solo songs that he just doesn't sing well anymore (and way overplayed) are Let Me Roll it and Jet. If they are not signature songs (and I don't believe they are) and he can't sing them well at this point why have them in the 2017 Setlist when he has so many other potential great songs to play that he has never or rarely done in the past. And why not throw some bones to the true harder core fans. Now on the Beatles secondary songs. I totally don't understand the "I Wanna Be Your Man" and "Mr. Kite" choices when he has classic (almost signature songs) like Penny Lane, For No One, I Will and Here There & Everywhere" not included. Are you kidding me? Furthermore, Birthday, Love Me Do and In Spite of All the Danger are not in the same universe compared to the 4 songs I just listed. I could get more specific but in general this is why I'm so disappointed with the setlist. Doesn't the master himself want to showcase his greatest, most mature songs. He is English after all... from the same country that gave the world Shakespeare, Wordsworth, **** etc. Why would he want to include such trite stuff like Four Five Seconds, Temporary Secretary and I Wanna Be Your Man. These low quality songs taking up important setlist slots just baffles me. He has great great songs that he just ignores. It does take some time and work to "perfect" a Setlist from a Catalog as impressive as his. It just seems like he doesn't want to put the time or energy to do it. Anyway, I will see what happens when he starts doing his US shows in July. If he or other people close to him read these posts (from his own Website) and makes some of the changes we are proposing, I will go to the Tampa show even if I have to pay extra from a Post Sales source. But I won't change my mind if he doesn't make any changes.
Excellent post! I totally agree with everything you said.

I wonder if he could still do Listen to What The Man Said if Abe helped out with the high notes in the chorus

corchians:
Opener Beatles song: I wanna hold your hand Opener Wings song: So glad to see you here Tribute to George: Here comes the sun Tribute to John: In my life or Imagine Tribute to Cilla: Step inside love Tribute to Martin: New song upcoming album (rumors said that he have wrote a song for Martin) Songs from Flowers: Distraction -The day is done ( I hope always to hear songs never performed live so I hope that he don't play My brave face-We got married etc done in the 89-90 tour). 50 years of Pepper: When I'm 64 (The only pepper song by Paul not yet played)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Corchians, Great post. If Paul showed that kind of imagination to his 2017 Setlist, I would be camping out the night before to get to the Tampa Arena. Super suggestions. Distractions and/or That Day is Done would be awesome. He wrote the melody for When I'm 64 when he was like 16. Why wouldn't he play that one and it is easy to sing. So many of the boomers know it so well. And "I Want to Hold Your Hand is another great song for the boomers and hard core folks that he has never done. It would also be another great tour opener this time around. This setlist in Japan just baffles me. One would think that he would still want to "improve" the setlist and do great songs he has never done.

I don't know why he dropped it. It sounded fantastic in Philly in 2015 and then I saw the very next show in Charlottesville and it was gone never to be seen again.

I've decided to take action here and write the best (and realistic) setlist McCartney could play right now. 1. Got To Get You Into My Life 2. Jet 3. She's A Woman 4. Temporary Secretary 5. Day Tripper 6. Let Me Roll It 7. I've Got a Feeling 8. Getting Better 9. 1985 10. Here There and Everywhere 11. Maybe I'm Amazed 12. Monkberry Moon Delight 13. Every Night 14. Michelle 15. You Wont See Me 16. We Can Work It Out 17. Blackbird 18. Here Today 19. Alligator 20. Queenie Eye 21. Fool On the Hill 22. Fixing a Hole 23. Band On The Run 24. Baby Youre A Rich Man 25. Flaming Pie 26. Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite 27. A Day In the Life/Give Peace a Chance 28. Let it Be 29. Hey Jude Encore 3o. Cant Buy Me Love 31. Helter Skelter 32. Sgt Pepper 34. Smile Away 35. Why Dont We Do it In the Road 36. Obla Di Obla Da 37. Golden Slumbers 38. Carry That Weight 39. The End

Do you guys think maybe he doesn't like to do songs like LTWTMS or Take It Away because Linda sang backup prominently? Seems dumb not to do those (or any other Wings era song) for whatever reason! Why in heaven's name there isn't someone who could influence him to go in a better direction with his setlist choices is beyond me!
-
ooh Baby You're a Rich Man could be cool...

It's for this reason I think he is avoiding Silly Love Songs.

He did "Listen to What the Man Said" fairly recently in concert.

I know this was your first post, but I have to disagree with some of it being "realistic." He needs to drop MIA as he can no longer sing it. Pick another tribute to Linda song like I Will and/or Calico Skies (although he'd probably have to change the key of CS) Also, why is the encore 9 songs long? He apparently has stopped doing 2 encores (am I right?) and you would have to split that up. Doubt he will ever do #34 or #35. And #12 is way beyond his vocal capabilities now as well. And where is a George tribute song? I love Baby You're A Rich Man, but doubt he'd do it. Would rather hear Hey Bulldog if he's going to do a "John" song. Please drop #26! And do I Can Bet or Save Us instead of Queenie Eye. On a positive note, I like the rest.

I agree, but he did LTWTMS as recently as 2015, and it was still pretty fresh then. Out There was the first time since 1976 and he was doing it really well. Take It Away would be fantastic, as would This One, but neither are likely to happen, but both are far more likely than any other solo tracks of that variety

I know, WixRocks just mentioned that, but he (Paul) dropped it. Why?!

Take it Away would be incredible. That sits plenty low in his register that it would really showcase what voice 2017 Sir Paul still has. I think it would have to come early though. It would be a good replacement for "Temporary Secretary"...I find myself saying that on here a lot lately...can you tell which song I want out the most?

haha. Temporary had its moment. It's not the type of song that can stick for that long. A few shows, sure, but 2 years is a bit excessive

Welcome aboard carsondent! I must admit, I'm a tad skeptical of your list as well...even though I would absolutely LOVE to hear (most) of it! -Ditch Mr. Kite & Temporary Secretary (...see! I told ya!) -Move Flaming Pie & Baby You're a Rich Man (COOL idea! Abe could take the falsetto) earlier -He can't sing MIA or MMD...as epic as that would be, nor do I think he's got the enthusiasm to add Smile Away.
