Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours

.....still hoping for UK X-Mas shows!! Would be fun!!

I personally think there's a really good chance of UK Christmas shows this year. Paul has generally played gigs in places nearer to home in December in recent years so I highly doubt he would tour in Australia at this time. I do think, however, that he will most likely visit there in early 2014. Of course this is all only my opinion but I think UK shows are very probable especially since he has done no shows there all summer.

Worst part is the waiting!!!!! Probably wouldn't be announced until November if at all. I spent a lot this year but I'd try hard to make it if it happens
Yeah, agreed! The worst part is waiting!

Great to hear about Japan, so refreshing and exciting!!! My guess is that he'll follow it up with South Korea and the (hopefully) Australia... What a great tour this has shaped out to be!

FrankieJ:
We missed out last Christmas because Paul was off doing other shows and stuff at our expense. I'd be too heartbroken if he did it again. He has to let the UK see his Out There show at some point. I don't see why anywhere has to miss out at all.

Now I'm getting excited...The Out There Tour won't be over! Where's the next place?

Japan! Confirmed today! I've a gut feeling he'll probably do South Korea (probably 3 nights in the Olympic Stadium) in late November/early December, do 2-3 UK homecoming shows, then head to Australia in late January/early February. Maybe 6 Australia gigs. If that comes true, (including Japan) then that will be 16 more shows coming, bringing the tour total up to 42, making it the longest tour since 2005. Then I think a well-deserved break is coming, after Australia probably, then new album in September 2014, and an accompanying tour.

You are absolutely correct!

Id assume that an aussie tour will be announced soon to go with these Japanese dates and good on them, pretty much rules out a euro/UK tour though surely? Oh well not to worry at least peeps who've not seen him in a while will get their chance.
No. No tour in Australia.

I definitely wouldn't lose hope of Paul touring Australia just yet. I have a feeling we'll see him tour there in early 2014. He really does seem to be making an effort to go to places he hasn't been to in years (e.g Austria, Japan) this time, so in my opinion, I think this makes Australia a highly likely place for him to tour.

Australia has had a lot of big names over there in the last couple of years or so at this point id be surprised if Paul didn't go there soon. As for the CD i never really saw it coming out this year what with the rockshow/WOA releases/reissues early next year would be my best guess,no point flooding the market is there?

I don't think the market was "flooded" by WOA, it is a reissue, not a new release. And I don't think there was much in the way of advertising. And I don't even know that OUT THERE was ever officially announced as a tour to promote the reissue of WOA. It's kind of confusing. But I guess IF there is to be a new CD and a tour to go with it, this one will have to play out. Though after doing so many shows on THIS tour, will it make any sense to mount a major tour so soon? I predict the new CD will not have a major tour to accompany it. He is actually flooding the market with concerts, not CDs.

I agree, thinking back to last year the Kisses album came out in February and then in May the Ram reissue, so just a few months apart for those two, which means that we could theoretically see the new album by September. In a way, this tour does promote the WOA as I think that is why Listen to What the Man Said and Hi Hi Hi have been included. With an album of new material, those songs could be dropped along with My Valentine.

I remember Martin saying similar that this leg, legs of the tour was promoting WOA at the time i scoffed at his reply but i think he's on the money because as you say some songs included at the moment are prominent and are associated to the film/album. The new year has always been my bet round the same time as Kisses came out,but time will tell i suppose but september is getting awfully close then you have the christmas greatest hits type rush the new alum could get lost in all of that.

I don't really think the tour has anything to do with the re-release! None of them have ever had prominent roles in the setlist except for Band on The Run. And yes, there are a lot of songs in this show that were played on WOA, but they weren't all necesarily added for this tour or for the re-release. Listen To What The Man Said Let Me Roll It Maybe I'm Amazed I've Just Seen a Face Blackbird Lady Madonna Band on The Run Live and Let Die Hi, Hi, Hi They are all on WOA. BUT, they were all in the setlist before and have been for a WHILE except for "Listen To What The Man Said" and "Hi, Hi, Hi". I think they were just two new Wings songs Paul decided to play just as he's decided to add "1985" and "Junior's Farm" etc. over the past few years. I expect the new album out before these Japanese dates and for about 5 songs to drop from the set to make room for new album tracks.

i've heard a radio inerview Paul made while getting to the arena in verona, he said about the new album that he hoped "that would be out by the end of the year .. october maybe" I really wish it was not postponed, i'm dying to hear some new macca music

I guess when you don't have label execs breathin' down your neck to meet a deadline, it's a luxury to take your time.
